Treatments for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Women

Abstract:
Gestational Diabetes Mellitus is characterized as any glucose intolerance during pregnancy or started with. During pregnancy, there are metabolic changes in order to contribute to the healthy growth and development of the baby, between the changes include increased insulin resistance that can lead to complications both mother and the baby. The aim of this summary is to know what are the treatments provided to patients women Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. Articles were obtained from electronic databases such as Lilacs and SciELO, in the period between 2006 and 2016, using the Gestational Diabetes Mellitus descriptors and treatment. . From the inclusion and exclusion criteria, thirteen publications were listed in the study. from the diagnosis of gestational diabetes, is necessary to adopt measures to prevent various impacts on the course of pregnancy and the baby's development through nutritional diet, physical activity and when necessary, drug treatment. Diabetes Mellitus can be controlled provided that it is an early diagnosis and subsequent treatment in order to avoid pregnancy complications.
